Jacob--Live or Die?

OK, this is the quote at the beginning of Breaking Dawn:

"Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age
The child is grown, and puts away childish things.
Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies."

-Edna St. Vincent Millay

Soo... why is this quote so important to the rest of the book? Well, what you have to do is break it down.

"Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age
The child is grown, and puts away childish things.
Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies."

This, I believe, is Bella, before becoming a vampire. She might be mature for a teenager and even a young adult, but is she really so mature that she can handle big things? The loss of family? The loss of a friend? Forever?

And then:
"Childhood is not from birth to a certain age and at a certain age
The child is grown, and puts away childish things.
Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies."

Well, how do YOU interpret this? Jacob? Renee and Charlie? Edward?

As for me, this has only proven that my theory of Jacob dying in Breaking Dawn is very possible, if not probable. Do you guys think so? Do you HOPE so, like me?

I don't think the quote is so directly related to the actual plot. It's probably describing a more general element of the book.

It might be foreshadowing some sort of maturing of a character or the beginning of a new phase in life. Does that make sense?

No, because it's saying that's NOT what childhood is. It's NOT just getting older, going from point A in your life to point B. It's almost a state of mind, an innocence. It's a point in your life where you refuse to believe there are bad things in the world, including death. So one or more of the characters are going to have to be faced with that. An end of innocence...

"Childhood" isn't saying you're 10 years old. That's what this quote is saying. It's not an age, it's just the time in your life when you're still innocent, and you haven't really been faced with a really bad thing happening, like death....

that practically like breakingup.and she always feels so guilteywhen shes with him, and..and.. nO.it just dosent happen.
