This isnt how Gray exactly planned to spend her first few vampire days

oh no... jake thought to himself. shes cottoning on to the fact that something is extremely wrong here. i cant let her know how bad it is though...but shes gonna keep asking questions. shes a strong girl, and she wont take no for an answer...what am i supposed to tell her...?

Grey finally gets edward to turn around and look at her. but now, although his eyes are no longer full of shock, they are full of worry, stronger than grey has ever seen. seeing him shocked was bad enough, but seeing the immense worry on his face tells her just how bad this really is. edward was always so calm and collected...

Carlisle: I'm going for a think. I'll be back soon, see you later.
Emmett: Yeah, I'll come too, Bye, guys.
As soon as they are out of the door, Gray throws her arms around Edward, and he pulls her towards him, still staring on.

Jake: Char, I dont want you gettingall worried, okay? We can hande this-
Char: WHAT DO YOU MEAN? LOOK AT YOU!!!!
Jake: If you'd let me finish, I was going to say or the bloodsuckers could lend a hand.
Charlie folds her arms

Emmett: I wanna see just how bad Jake really is, seeing as I havent seen this for myself.
Carlisle: I was thiking th esmae thing exactly. Can you smell him? His blood must be spilt all over the place, we'll follow it like a trail. Itt finding the beginning of the trail that wse need to do, the rest is easy. It wont be too hard to find, I imagine. Follow me.
He runs off, and Emmett follows him.
Two silent blurs through the trees

"Edward?" Gray says worriedly. "Edward, talk to me, please. i know youre worried, but, i just need to hear your voice...you've barely spoken since you collapsed..."

"are you really going to ask them for help?" charlie asked jake suspiciously. "well...i wouldnt normally, its true, but under the circumstances..." Jake trails off, and realises he's said too much...

"whoa..." Emmet chokes out. "is Jake even still alive with this amount of blood lost? it reeks!!!"
"i think so..." Carlisle replies. "edward seemed to think he was still living when we left... lets just follow the trail and see where it takes us"
They follow the scent of Jakes blood, and soon arrive at a small hut in the middle of the wood.
"this is the place" Emmet mutters. "i can smell charlie in here, as well as the dog..."
Carlisle agrees and they both walk into the hut to discuss the matter with jake and charlie.

Jake covers his nose. Emmett is ready to barg in, but Carlisle holds him back.
"It's rude, Emmett. Think about how we smell to all of them in there!"
He knocks

Edward sighs and lightly squeezes Gray
"I'm sorry, I'm sure you understand. I have really been acting out of order, and I apologise."
Gray chuckles once, "It's okay, just, please, try and act normal? Cause I don't like seeing you like this."
"Sure thing!"

Charlies head whips round in fear. has whatever attacked jake found them here in the woods...?
"its ok" Jake reassures her, still covering his nose. "its just your bloodsuckers..."
Charlie relaxes a little.
"you can come in" jake says, knowing the vampires can hear him, even though he speaks quietly. Emmet and Carlisle enter, and though they knew jake was bad, the sight shocks them a little.

"ok, not like that!" gray says. "thats a little too chirpy."
"well you said act normal." Edward replied.
"yes. normal, not overly happy!" Gray clarified. "youre usually a little serious, just not usually this worried...just...tone it down a little, ok?"
"alright" Edward said, pulling Gray in for a gently hug. "ill try, ok?"
Gray smiles at him.
"thats all i ask."

Edward laughs and kisses Gray's forhead,
"So what are we going to do then? Something perfectly normal and sane?" Gray asks

"Jacob, Charlie" Carlisle greets them
Emmett nods, holding his breath
Carlisle doesnt need to with all his practice

Charlie takes another look at Jake and breaks down, sobbing and sobbing.

Emmett comes over and picks her up like a baby.

Jake looks at him and nods, and Emmett carries Charlie over and goes to stand by Carlisle.

"Now, you need to understand that you can't help him. No-shh-listen! You are a girl with no experience in this field. This is a job for Doctor Vamp and Doctor Wolf. Emmett, take her outside please." Carlisle says
Emmett nods and carries Charlie outside and Carlisle goes to find the wolf doctor

"Emmett...what did this?" she asks him, looking him straight in the eyes.

"I don't know but I've got a funny feeling Carlisle does and he's not telling us." Emmett replies surely.
"Do you think Jake does and he won't say?" asks Char

"Maybe." Emmett mumbles, taking Charlie's hand and leading her downstairs.

"I've really not got any idea. For now, lets go home, see how Edward's shaping up. He fainted" Emmett mutters
